We have exciting news from Canon that they are launching new A1 and A0 printers onto the wide format market which means improved printing in the TM series of wide format printers.
There will be 5 new improved models to choose from which will replace some of the current TM series best sellers so here is what’s to come…
These new Canon A1 and Ao printers will replace the 24 inch TA-20, TM-200 and TM-205, and the 36 inch TA-30, TM-300, and TM-305 respectively.
The new range covers a wide variety of printing needs which covers everyday CAD plans and drawings, to signage and promotional posters. This is the perfect partner for shops, restaurants, schools and more. They are ideal for offices and design studios who want to print everyday drawings and bring their display printing in-house. It’s the ideal way to save money on outsourcing printing and to keep control of an efficient and speedy workflow.
The improved Canon TM range uses a new image processing unit for faster start-up, therefore the TM-355/350 has rapid print speeds of up to 3.2 A1 pages per minute. This is around 25% faster than the TM-300 and TM-305.
The improved inks on the new TM series will let you produce high-impact images, even using uncoated papers. A new magenta ink gives excellent red colour performance for sharper contrast and greater clarity which means more vibrant images. All Canon TM printers use water-resistant pigment inks which are smudge resistant, so you can print eye catching posters and POS materials that won’t fade. What’s more all the new Canon A1 and A0 printers print borderless so there’s no need to trim!
The new ‘flat-top’ design makes it easy to change paper rolls. The printers detect and display the paper type and calculate the amount of paper remaining. This, with colour calibration included as standard, reduces work to achieve greater efficiency. The large touchscreen can be tilted and the angle adjusted for better vision.
Operating noise is approximately a third lower than the previous TM models. This is reduced to 35 decibels (dB) in standby and 41 decibels (dB) in operation depending on the model, allowing use in any workplace.
Canon is committed to reducing waste and environmental impact across all operations. The new TM series has achieved Gold certification across the new range in the US Epeat Registry, the highest level in the imaging equipment segment. Expanded polystyrene has been eliminated from product packaging materials and replaced with recyclable cardboard.
TM printers can use the Canon Direct Print Plus software. It allows multiple files, in different formats, to be sorted for batch printing by simply dragging and dropping. This tool helps you to print all types of drawings more efficiently. For promotional work, you can use PosterArtist, a web-based application that allows you to create original poster and brochure designs using a wide range of free templates.
