This product is an uncoated plain plotter paper which is available in both rolls and sheets and is perfect for basic drawings in house plans, layouts & CAD work. Our uncoated paper comes in two popular weights.
Traditionally architects and construction firms favoured 80gsm as this grade not only folded very well but was also the least expensive to post with Royal Mail. Nowadays, as plotters have developed and colour work is pretty much standard we offer two weights as follows:

GDS 80gsm Draft Paper is favoured for black and white line work usually associated with technical drawings and layouts, whilst the 90gsm version is favoured by customers adding colour line work and small fills as it will accept a little more ink without ‘cockling’ (warping from too much wet ink). GDS 80gsm Draft Paper is a basic, lightweight, matt surfaced, uncoated paper just like the standard A4 photocopy paper you find in every office printer or copier, just supplied on a roll. It is perfect for check prints, in-house plans, and any prints where basic paper will do.
GDS 90gsm Standard Inkjet Plotter Paper is a smooth matt surface, bright white, uncoated paper ideal for in-house drawings, check prints, colour line work, layouts, plans, AutoCAD drawings, maps and technical drawings. It is a fraction heavier than the 80gsm Draft Paper so our customers prefer it for colour work or as an everyday value-for-money paper.

What paper types you can use on the Canon TM-255 Printer…?

The Canon TM-255 can print on a wide range of media. The pigment ink system in this printer makes it a versatile model for architecture, construction, designers, schools, retailers and many more, printing plans, layouts & technical drawings as well stunning quality presentation designs, portfolios, posters, wallcharts and banners. The pigment ink also allows you to print a slightly heavier coverage print on lighter paper. The Canon TM-255 can also print borderless on heavier weight roll media (no margin – print edge to edge) allowing you to print posters and images on the full sheet size.

Whether you need TM-255 CAD paper (uncoated basic plain white paper) for printing technical drawings and layouts, TM-255 Presentation paper (coated with a unique inkjet layer to give a higher quality print), TM-255 Heavyweight paper, or TM-255 Photo Paper to make sure your images look tip-top, we can pinpoint the roll or sheet pack for you. We have put together a selection of the most popular rolls and sheets for you to choose from, with total peace of mind for excellent print results.
Most of the rolls we suggest for the Canon TM-255 printer are supplied on a 2-inch core (50mm) (this is the tube in the centre of the paper roll which slides onto the printer spindle) – cores come in two standard sizes 50mm (2″) and 76mm (3″) and the Canon TM-255 can handle both 2 and 3-inch cores – just use the core adaptors that come with the printer to use the larger 3-inch core rolls. One of the most popular rolls for everyday technical drawings is a 594mm x 175mt 75gsm plain uncoated paper, which falls within the max 15cms roll diameter, comes on a 3-inch core and is great for avoiding changing the roll too often, meaning you can load up and get on with printing. A roll like this will produce approx. 208 x A1 drawings!

What Paper sizes fit the Canon TM-255 Printer…?
The TM-255 is an A1 size (24″) floor standing printer, one of the smallest A1 printers in the Canon imagePROGRAF wide-format range. It can take rolls up to 24″ wide / 610mm and up to 175mts long (15cms diameter). The Canon TM-255 can also handle sheets – these need to be loaded individually. Here is an overview of the standard sizes of wide-format paper rolls and sheets and the size of prints you can use them for. Sizing varies between traditional CAD sizing where true ISO sheet size is required from rolls, and graphics sizing which is almost always oversized. Where a roll accommodates 2 sizes you can print both by simply turning your print to landscape.
