The Canon PRO-4000 12 colour Photo Printer can print on a very wide range of media from basic papers, to presentation matt, heavyweight matt, satin or gloss photo paper, backlit film, canvas, fine art papers, roller banner, self adhesive, vinyl and even outdoor banner to name the most popular.
The Canon PRO-4000 can print onto roll paper or you can individually load paper sheets to use sheet media. We much prefer roll feed and we should be able to supply a variety of rolls in your chosen media type.
The Canon PRO-4000 takes rolls on both 2″ or 3″ inch core (the core is the tube in the centre of the roll) and you will find blue core adaptors that come with the printer. These can be clipped on to the spindle to fill out the 3 inch core rolls.
You don’t have to use Canon branded papers on your PRO-4000 printer. You will usually find a ‘near enough’ media setting on the Canon PRO-4000 media list on the printer display, but you can also use the Media Configuration Tool to download more Canon branded media types or to custom build your own specific paper setting. Likewise, you can also download .icc profiles for this printer if you choose to use fine art brands such as Innova, Canson, Hahnemuhle, PermaJet, Fotospeed etc…

The Canon PRO-4000 (44″) printer can take rolls up to 44″ wide / 1118mm and up to 90mt long (15cms diameter).
Here is an overview of the standard sizes of wide format paper rolls and sheets and the size of prints you can use them for. Sizing varies between traditional CAD sizing where true ISO sheet size is required from rolls, and graphics sizing which is almost always oversized to allow designs with a bleed for trimming. Where a roll accommodates two sizes you can print both by simply turning your print to landscape.
