GDS Matt Smooth 300gsm Fine Art Paper is an acid free, matt, heavyweight, smooth (actually very slightly textured),100% cotton, digital inkjet paper giving the appearance of traditional art watercolour paper for producing superb quality art prints on your Canon PRO-2100 where a natural white is required. GDS Fine Art Smooth is also perfect for high quality fine art reproduction and keepsake photography. A fabulous alternative to the more expensive Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm paper.
This product is smoother than the Fine Art Textured version, but it still has a small degree of surface texture compared to truly smooth cheaper papers.
Our GDS Matt Smooth Fine Art Paper is a smooth digital art paper designed to suit the needs of photographers and artists using digital photographic inkjet machines who want to achieve fine art quality. This paper mimics watercolour art paper and provides excellent image sharpness and optimum colour graduation. Made from 100% cotton GDS Matt Smooth 300gsm is a versatile smooth, white, heavyweight, all-purpose, matt paper which feels great in the hand and with what we call excellent 'ping'! quality. A very accommodating best seller. Perfect for fine art reproduction, wedding and emotional or life photography and limited edition prints.
This paper is particularly well placed to stand as an alternative to Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm.
For a more heavily textured surface roll - see our Fine Art Textured 300gsm paper.
NB - we find that whilst this heavyweight roll loads perfectly on single roll Canon PRO-2000 printers, it is not happy being loaded on the second roll on dual roll machines. For easiest loading always leave the band around the roll whilst loading and load on Roll 1.
Our GDS brand rolls are made for us by outstanding manufacturers including Océ, Canon and Xerox to give you the very best quality at the lowest price possible.

GDS stocks a huge range of paper and media in rolls and sheets and we know exactly what fits your Canon PRO-2100 Printer.
The Canon PRO-2100 12 colour Photo Printer can print on a very wide range of media from basic papers, to presentation matt, heavyweight matt, satin or gloss photo paper, backlit film, canvas, fine art papers, roller banner, self-adhesive, vinyl and even outdoor banner to name the most popular.
The Canon PRO-2100 can print onto roll paper or you can individually load paper sheets to use sheet media. We much prefer roll fees and we should be able to supply roll paper in your chosen media type.
The Canon PRO-2100 takes rolls on both 2" or 3" inch core (the core is the tube in the centre of the roll) and you will find blue core adaptors that come with the printer. These can be clipped on to the spindle to fill out the 3 inch core rolls.
You don't have to use Canon branded papers. You will usually find a 'near enough' media setting on the Canon PRO-2100 media list on the printer display, but you can also use the Media Configuration Tool to download more Canon branded media types or to custom build your own specific paper setting. Likewise, you can also download ICC profiles for this printer if you choose to use fine art brands such as Innova, Canson, Hahnemuhle, etc.
GDS offers a basic 'tried & tested' range of our own brand media which will give great results and superb value for money when printing on the Canon PRO-2100 printer. Our PRO-2100 paper range should give you a paper product that is suitable for any of your print jobs. The Canon PRO-2100 A1 size (24") printer can take rolls up to 24" wide / 610mm and up to 90mt long (15cms diameter).
Here is an overview of the standard sizes of wide format paper rolls and sheets and the size of prints you can use them for. Sizing varies between traditional CAD sizing where true ISO sheet size is required from rolls and graphics sizing which is almost always oversized to allow designs with a bleed for trimming. Where a roll accommodates two sizes you can print both by simply turning your print to landscape.
