We love this versatile cost-efficient iPF6400SE model. Whether it's pull up banners, roller banners, lightbox displays, hanging POS displays or simple wall posters, the image quality is exceptional whilst the 6 colour ink set means that replacement consumables are kept to a minimum. Borderless printing (edge to edge without margin) and the handy 'free layout' tool offer the user superb print management control to position prints to achieve the best space use on the roll and eliminate the need to trim. Whilst there is no specific 'canvas' setting on the Canon iPF6400SE printer, we have achieved superb canvas output and can help with suggested settings if that is what you would like to achieve.

The Canon iPF6400SE is also aimed at architectural and design practices producing high quality plans, line drawings and layouts, but also wishing to produce exhibition displays, framed presentations of work completed or high quality client presentations. AutoCAD drivers are included allowing this iPF6400SE model to transverse the roles of CAD Plotter and Graphics Printer. The perfect dual purpose machine.

The Canon iPF6400SE can take both 2 inch and 3 inch size core rolls and can accommodate the larger diameter art paper roll and heavyweight media rolls with ease. Users can also feed individual sheets should they wish to use a specific photo paper or particular size one off print. The iPF6400SE can handle media weight up to 500gsm meaning you can even produce short term scrim vinyl banners for promoting fetes, parties, shop sales and festivals.

The Canon iPF6400SE printer has a 256MB processing memory offering a printing speed from 34 seconds per A1 print (plain paper). Estimated ink usage is approximately 0.4ml per A1for a colour CAD drawing and between 1ml and 2ml for a typical light coverage poster on various heavier weight papers - see the full details in the Estimated Ink Usage chart which can be found in the 'Brochures' tab.

The Canon iPF6400SE printer is user friendly and simple to operate. It can be connected via Ethernet cable to any network or by USB cable direct to your PC or Mac. Both Windows and Mac drivers are available for the iPF6400SE together with a host of software to make your printing more efficient and give added functionality. The Status Monitor allows the printer to talk back to your PC, giving ink level info, paper spec loaded, etc and the Accounting Tool is great for tracking exact cartridge & media usage and costings job as you go. All Canon machines also have the Media Configuration Tool allowing the user to download Canon media settings and create their own.

INKS- The Canon iPF6400SE Printer has a six colour ink system - Matte Black, Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Red The iPF6400SE printer comes with a generous set of 90ml introductory ink cartridges in the box ready for you to start printing straight away and the replacement PFI-106 (130ml) or PFI-206 (300ml) ink cartridges are available from stock. You can mix and match ink sizes to choose the higher capacity cartridges in the most used colours depending on your work type. Inks are 'hot swap' meaning they can be changed whilst the machine is printing to avoid loss of paper and save valuable time. The Canon iPF6400SE printer uses 6 xpigment inksto create stunning quality prints. To explain briefly where it sits in the Canon Graphics Range........

Canon printers are currently available with5 colour 'dye' ink systems (CAD models), or with6, 8 or 12 colour 'pigment' ink systems (graphics/photo models).The dye ink machinesare perfectfor CAD and technical drawings, maps and high quality, short term display prints such as in house posters and banners, but dye inks have no long term UV fade resistance or water resistance. Whilst all Canon imagePROGRAF printers print at the same resolution (dpi), the pigment ink machineswill give a wider colour gamut, the more inks they have - this iPF6400SE has 6 inks making it 'entry level graphics'. The pigment inks also give UV fade resistance and some water resistance meaning these models will offer long lasting prints for framing and display and even short term outdoor display.

ORIGINAL CANON SUPPLIES-The Canon iPF6400SE is only intended to be used with genuine Canon cartridges with a Canon original chip. Cartridges using a non-Canon chip may not work and may damage your machine or the printhead. GDS stock the full range of original Canon supplies for theCanon iPF670.

PAPER- The Canon iPF6400SE takes paper rolls from 297mm up to the full width 610mm with 594mm (true A1 sheet size) being a popular choice for printing A1 CAD drawings. The iPF6400SE can also accept sheets from A4 to A1 although these require individual loading so roll feed if preferable for print runs. Using roll feed, each print will be horizontally cut by the automatic cutter to drop into the handy catch basket. The iPF6400SE has both 2 inch core & 3 inch core capacity so you can choose from a wide range of media from standard 80 and 90gsm plain paper up to large 260gsm satin and gloss photo paper rolls and heavier banner films.
