T830 Incorrect Driver Installed?

Are you experiencing printing issues with your lovely new HP DesignJet T830? 9.9 times out of 10, there is no cause for alarm. We have the solution for you!

When customers say they are having scaling issues, it is most often that they have the wrong driver installed. If you uninstall the printer, delete it from the devices and reinstall with this one, it should resolve the issue.

First go to –

Driver Install for HP DesignJet T830.

You will be presented with the screen as shown below. Click on ‘Basic Drivers‘ as highlighted in yellow (by us so you can find it more easily).

Once the Basic Drivers tab has expanded you will see a choice of two Drivers. The one you want is the HP DesignJet T-Series HP-GL/2 Driver, as highlighted in yellow again.

Which driver for HP T830

Having the wrong Printer Driver installed can cause numerous problems. If you are experiencing any of the following issues you may have installed the wrong driver-

  • A PDF File is clipped
  • Objects are missing from a printed file
  • Problems with sizing and scaling of drawings

If you are using the correct driver and are still experiencing issues, then it will be down to the Autorotate option which can be found in the printer driver. Go to:

File > Print > Properties > Second Tab Along > Check Box to tick or untick.

Here you can switch from ‘Avoid Clipping’ to ‘Autorotate’ or the other way round depending on results.
