The amazing value Canon iPF670 printer remains our best selling machine ever and produces low cost plans and high quality vibrant posters quickly, quietly & efficiently. This compact A1 model is as easy to set up and use as any office printer and is ideal for small networked groups wanting to print technical drawings and vibrant short term posters. Perfect for technical drawings, layouts, plans, maps, full colour posters, and presentations on all types of CAD to photo papers.
The Canon iPF670 is our best value A1 printer for CAD plans and superb full colour posters & presentation work – Canon’s entry level printer knocks spots off its rivals.
GDS stock the full range of Canon imagePROGRAF wide format printers including our favourite in the A1 category, the mighty iPF670 Printer. The Canon iPF670 is an affordable entry level A1 printer with floorstand and built in roll feed, but don’t be fooled by the term ‘entry level’ – Canon’s build quality, print functions, added software, generous inks and print quality all add to the package, making the iPF670 the ‘go to’ workhorse for anybody wanting a quiet, efficient, reliable plotter for colour technical drawings, layouts, plans, maps, posters and presentations. The image quality on this machine is also superb and the borderless feature means you can produce a full bleed photo (no margin, no need to trim) up to A1 size. The Canon iPF670 also takes 2 or 3 inch core media and the longer 90mt CAD rolls saving you valuable time changing rolls.
The Canon iPF670 has a 256MB processing memory offering a printing speed of 28 seconds per A1 print with a guaranteed minimum line width of 0.07mm. Estimated ink usage is approximately 0.3ml per A1for a typical CAD drawing – see the estimated ink usage chart in the ‘Brochures’ tab.
The Canon iPF670 is user friendly and simple to operate. It can be connected via Ethernet cable to any network or by USB cable direct to your PC. Both Windows and Mac drivers are available for the iPF670 together with a host of software to make your printing more efficient and give added functionality. The Status Monitor allows the printer to talk back to your PC, giving ink level info, paper spec loaded, etc and the accounting tool is great for tracking exact cartridge usage and job costs as you go.
INKS – The Canon iPF670 Plotter has a five colour ink system and has 6 inks loaded – 2 x Matte Black, Black, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. The iPF670 plotter comes with a generous set of 90ml introductory ink cartridges in the box ready for you to start printing straight away and the replacement PFI-107 ink cartridges are available from stock. If you wish to add original Canon inks to your order you will find them all HERE.
The Canon iPF670 printer usesdye inksto create stunning quality prints. To explain briefly……..
Whilst all Canon imagePROGRAF printers print at the same resolution (dpi), they are available with5 colour ‘dye’ ink systems, or with6, 8 or 12 colour ‘pigment’ ink systems. The dye ink machinesare perfectfor CAD and technical drawings, maps and high quality, short term display prints such as in house posters and banners, but dye inks have no long term UV fade resistance or water resistance. The pigment ink machineswill give a wider colour gamut, the more inks they have. The pigment ink also give UV fade resistance and some water resistance meaning these models will offer long lasting prints for framing and display and even outdoor display.
ORIGINAL CANON SUPPLIES – The Canon iPF670 is only intended to be used with genuine Canon cartridges with a Canon original chip. Cartridges using a non-Canon chip may not work and may damage your machine or the printhead. GDS stock the full range of original Canon supplies for the Canon iPF670
CONNECTION – The Canon iPF670 Printer is not wireless. It does not come with a data cable in the box – if you wish to order an Ethernet Cable for connecting the machine to your network or a USB cable for connecting it to your PC we supply 5mt cables which can be added to your order – click HERE
DRIVERS – Click HERE to find the drivers, software, firmware and manuals straight from Canon and up to date.
PAPER – The Canon iPF670 takes paper rolls from 297mm up to the full width 610mm with 594mm (true A1 sheet size) being a popular choice for printing A1. The iPF670 can also accept sheets from A4 to A1 although these require individual loading so roll feed if preferable for print runs. Using roll feed, each print willbe horizontally cut by the automatic cutter to drop into the handy catch basket. The iPF670 has both 2 inch core & 3 inch core capacity so you can choose from a wide range of media from standard 80 and 90gsm plan paper right up to large 260gsm satin and gloss photo paper rolls. We try to be helpful so if you click HERE you will find a list of the most popular options which we know fit. This list is not exhaustive and only shows the full width A1 rolls so if you are after something specific or a smaller size, give us a call on 01625 613548 and we’ll be happy to help.
DELIVERY – Box drop next day delivery is always included in the price GDS shows for the Canon iPF670 Plotter. Most customers choose to set this machine up themselves, but please see the drop downs for enhanced delivery options (fully explained in the ‘Despatch’ tab).

Delivery FAQs:
What areas does the free delivery option cover?
Free next working day delivery covers most of UK mainland. There may be a surcharge and/or extended transit time for Scottish Highlands, Islands, Channel Islands, and Northern Ireland. Please call us on 01625 613548 to check your postcode and to discuss the options and charges.
I live in a first floor flat. Will the driver bring the printer upstairs to my apartment?
If you select Box Drop Free delivery then a pallet truck driver will unload your new machine on its pallet and will deliver it as near to your building entrance as possible. It will be left there for you to unpack and take indoors. (NB you will need to make sure you have help to lift the machine.) If you would like the machine brought to your flat and unpacked you can select 'Full Installation' and we will send you a brief site survey to complete. If we can reduce the rate shown we will do so dependent on area and number of people required.
Will the driver help me unpack the printer?
If you choose Free Box Drop Delivery, the driver will deliver and leave the packed pallet. He will not be able to help unpack the machine. You can select 'Full Installation' or please call 01625 613548 to discuss you specific requirements.
I live in Belfast. Is it still free next day delivery?
We will need to send you our best carriage quotation based on your delivery postcode. Please call us to request a quote on 01625 613548 or email us at sales@gds.org.uk. Transit time is usually 2-3 working days to NI.
Will the delivery driver help me set up my machine?
Only if you have selected 'Full Installation'. If you select that service the team will deliver, setup and install your machine and give you basic training whilst they are with you.
I can unpack the printer, but I am not very technical. Can I call you to help me install the drivers?
You can take advantage of our remote installation service. Once you have your machine built and ready to power up, we can arrange for an engineer to call and log on to your system to install the drivers and produce a test print for you. If you prefer we can send an engineer to site to help you and train you. Give us a call on 01625 613548.
I live up a long narrow drive. Can you send a small van instead of a big truck?
Wide format printers are usually delivered on the pallet so it's usually a large truck with a tail lift that is required. Please call us on 01625 613548 and we will be able to help with your specific delivery requirements.
My house is on a street with residents' parking only and no loading. Is this a problem?
Please give us a call prior to checking out and we can discuss specific arrangements for delivery.
What time will my printer arrive?
Next day free box drop is an all-day service and your machine will be delivered between 9am and 5.30pm. You will need to make sure someone is there to receive the printer and sign for it. If the delivery fails due to nobody being in, there may be a charge for a redelivery.
Can I get my printer delivered on an AM delivery?
Yes of course. Just give us a call - the surcharge is usually around £30 + VAT for a pre noon service.
Will the driver call me 30 minutes prior to arrival so I can make sure I am in?
We can certainly ask, but in our experience these requests sometimes do not reach the driver. We would recommend taking the delivery on a day when you can wait in for it.
Can you tell me exactly what time my printer will arrive?
If you give us a call first thing on the delivery day we can ask for an ETA. This is not an exact time but we usually get a 2 hour window. Obviously your machine may well arrive whilst we are waiting for the ETA info.
The inks and paper I ordered have not turned up with the printer?
Any consumables such as inks, paper or cables are shipping separately. We send out an email on the day of dispatch to give you details of what items are in each consignment and give tracking numbers where online tracking is possible.
Can I track my printer order online?
The pallet companies that we currently use do not offer online tracking at this time.
Is the printer easy to set up?
Most customers chose to set up this model themselves, but if you are concerned we can arrange installation and training.
Can I try to set it up myself and then call you if I have a problem?
Yes we can always send an engineer if you need one.
What if I need help and think the machine is faulty?
Your new printer will be covered by the manufacturer warranty. We usually send out a small laminated card with the support info and contact details on it, but you can call us and we can help you to get support.
Does the printer arrive fully assembled on the stand?
If you have selected Box Drop then you will need to unpack the machine, build the stand and then place the machine on top. It will be fixed by two bolts either end. Then you are ready to power it up.
The Canon iPF670 printer is usually in stock for delivery next working day. If you place your order for UK Mainland delivery before 3pm we can make sure we process your order in time for same day dispatch.
For customers wishing to have this model delivered outside of the UK or to the Scottish Highlands, Islands, Channel Islands or to Northern Ireland – call us on 01625 613548 and we can discuss your requirements and provide the best quotation.
Options:
Please note that if the delivery is to a residential building where your front door is within a block of flats or is on a higher floor, delivery will only be made to the building entrance and you will be responsible for accepting the box and taking it inside or upstairs. For enhanced delivery options, for tricky to reach properties, or if you prefer hand delivery and/or full on site installation please call 01625 613548
Once your self installation delivery arrives, you can cut the straps on the box, lift off the box top and lift the printer out of the protective polystyrene. The stand can be assembled, the printer then can be placed on top and 4 bolts adjusted to hold it in place. The orange transit tabs and tapes will all need to be removed. Then you are ready to install the cartridges and install the printer drivers onto you PC or MAC using the discs included.
All other items ordered such as extra inks, paper rolls and cables will arrive in a separate consignment with a separate carrier.
If you have any problems, you can call us and we will help.
Superb quality at an affordable price with the peace of mind given with Canon’s unrivalled reliability offering much more than its price-competitive peers. Borderless printing on the roll is a great feature for posters. As always Canon are generous with the free inks. Ink tanks you can change on the fly – saving wasted prints.
Highly recommended.
If you would like longer support than the standard 1 year Canon warranty, GDS also recommends taking out one of the MyLFP Extended Warranties – excellent service from real people to keep your machine up and running.
