PermaJet Digital Negative Transfer Film 165 - PermaJet Digital Transfer Film is a very clear film with an improved ink receiving layer that handles much more ink than average, to make perfect large format digital inkjet negatives - particularly monochrome, that can be used to 'contact' to normal darkroom print papers. Can also be used for high-key OHP presentations and backlit applications.
This specialist 165µ clear film is aimed the the photographer wanting to truly combine the world of darkroom with digital, allowing the creation of perfect 'digital negatives / positives'. The ink receiving layer works well with dye and pigment inks and dries quickly.
This water-resistant film reproduces high detail and image clarity. The new and improved ultra clear base with an improved fast drying coating technology enabling maximum black density with pin sharp results every time.
Tested and used extensively by Tim Rudman & Chris Woodhouse. Tim is well known for several books on black and white printing, lith printing and toning processes. As a photographer and printer his work has been exhibited widely around the world, gaining numerous awards and distinctions.
“The results were encouraging, good D-Max on the film. Being a clear film, it did not require clamping to the paper and gave sharp results. The film took a lot of ink without bleeding, using a standard glossy paper media setting, achieving smooth highlight transitions. It also did not show any signs of banding, which had plagued my A2 printer and I can see it would be useful for my astronomical photographs, where I think it may well be used with some advantage (less ink too!) Looks like you have a winner". Chris Woodhouse – Way Beyond Monochrome.
The special 165µ material is aimed at the photographer who truly wishes to combine their digital printing world with the darkroom andis coated with a transparent layer of ultra fine ceramic particles which form a vast number of regular shaped pores enabling the ink to be absorbed more evenly and faster to produce a negative or positive transparency with density and a good tonal range.
Compatible with most Dye and Pigment inks. Tested for use with Canon, HP, Epson and Lexmark printers. Not compatible with solvent or oil based inks.
