This product is an uncoated plain plotter paper which is available in both rolls and sheets and is perfect for basic drawings in house plans, layouts & CAD work. Our uncoated paper comes in two popular weights.
Traditionally architects and construction firms favoured 80gsm as this grade not only folded very well, but was also the least expensive to post with Royal Mail. Nowadays, as plotters have developed and colour work is pretty much standard we offer two weights as follows:
- 80gsm Draft Uncoated CAD Plotter Paper
- 90gsm Standard Uncoated CAD Plotter Paper (shown here)
GDS 80gsm Draft Paper is favoured for black and white line work usually associated with technical drawings and layouts, whilst this 90gsm version is favoured by customers adding colour line work and small fills as it will accept a little more ink without ‘cockling’ (warping from too much wet ink). GDS 80gsm Draft Paper is a basic, lightweight, matt surfaced, uncoated paper just like the standard A4 photocopy paper you find in every office printer or copier, just supplied on a roll. It is perfect for check prints, in house plans, and any prints where basic paper will do.
GDS 90gsm Standard Inkjet Plotter Paper is a smooth matt surfaced, bright white, uncoated paper ideal for in-house drawings, check prints, colour line work, layouts, plans, AutoCAD drawings, maps and technical drawings. It is a fraction heavier than the 80gsm Draft Paper so our customers prefer it for colour work or where their plans have fills as an everyday value for money paper.

WHAT PAPER & MEDIA TYPES YOU CAN USE ON THE HP T530 PRINTER…?
GDS stocks a huge range of paper and media in rolls and sheets and we know exactly what fits your HP T530 Printer and what doesn’t!
Please note that the HP T530 is available in two model sizes: T530 24″ (CQ890) and T530 36″ (CQ893). Rolls up to 24″ will fit on the A1 24″ model and rolls up to 36″ will fit on the A0 36″ model. You can use the filters on the left of your screen to make sure you get the selection that fits the model you have.
The HP T530 can print on a range of media. It is aimed at the entry level architectural/construction design market so it’s perfect for mainly printing plans, layouts, technical drawings, presentation designs, etc, but you can easily print on the following media types:
HP T530 TRANSPARENT OR TRANSLUCENT FILMS
If your paper is a transparent film (for example, a transparency), select paper type Film>Transparent/Clear film.If your paper is a translucent paper or film (for example, technical or tracing paper), select paper type Film>Matte film.
HP T530 BOND & COATED OR TECHNICAL PAPERS
Your paper type selection for generic paper depends on the paper’s ink absorption capacity
- For natural tracing papers, select paper type Natural Tracing Paper< 65 g/m2 or Natural Tracing Paper > 65 g/m2, depending on the weight of the paper.
- For thin papers (< 90 g/m2 ) or uncoated papers(for example plain paper or bright white paper), select paper type Bond and Coated Paper > Plain Paper. You can also select Recycled Bond Paper.
- For light coated papers(< 110 g/m2 ), select paper type Bond and Coated Paper > HP Coated Paper.
- For heavyweight coated papers(< 200 g/m2 ), select paper type Bond and Coated Paper > Heavyweight Coated Paper
HP T530 PHOTO PAPER
If your paper is a photo paper, use thePhoto Paper category. For glossy or high-gloss paper select paper typePhoto Gloss Paper. ForSemi-gloss, Satin, Pearl, or Lusterfinishes, select paper typePhoto Semi-gloss/Satin Paper. To increase gamut on photo paper, select paper type HP Universal Gloss Photo Paper or HP Universal Satin Photo Paper, depending on the finish.
WHAT GDS RECOMMENDS FOR YOUR PERFECT HP T530 PRINTS…

The rolls we suggest for the HP T530 printer are all supplied on a 2 inch core (50mm) (this is the tube in the centre of the paper roll which slides onto the printer spindle) – cores come in two standard sizes 50mm (2″) and 76mm (3″) – Note the T530 printerscannot handlelarger 3 inch core rolls.
Our T530 paper range should give you a paper product that is suitable for any of your print jobs. Our most popular papers are:
- 80gsm Uncoated Paper – basic line drawings
- 90gsm Uncoated Paper – slightly heavier for in house line drawings maybe with a bit of colour or the odd fill
- 112gsm Tracing Paper – where translucent prints are needed for overlays
- 110 micron Double Matt Film – a polyester translucent tracing film with water resistance and anti-rip robustness
- 100gsm Matt Coated Paper – perfectly smooth for that higher quality presentation feel when showing clients your plans and layouts
- 120gsm Matt Coated Paper – a heavier feel for smarter prints or 3D renders – great for portfolios or when the prints might be handled more often
- 165gsm Matt Coated Paper – smart poster paper with a robust feel, capable of handling heavy inks loads for full coverage and images
- 180gsm Matt Coated Paper – same as the 165gsm but some customers prefer the specific 180gsm weight
- 190gsm Satin Photo Paper – a lovely sheened surface without too much glare – the sharpest most vivid colours and a really professional result
- 190gsm Gloss Photo Paper– same as the Satin but this one has a very high gloss surface
WHAT PAPER SIZES FIT THE HP T530 PRINTER…?
Please note that the HP T530 is available in two model sizes: T530 24″ (5ZY60A) and T530 36″ (5ZY62A).
- The HP T530 A1 size (24″) printer can take rolls up to 24″ wide / 610mm and up to 50mt long (10cms diameter).
- The HP T530 A0 size (36″) printer can take rolls up to 36″ wide / 914mm and up to 50mt long (10cms diameter).
Both HP T530 printer models can also handle sheets – the cassette can be loaded with A3 or A4 paper to feed continuously or you can load A2 or A1 sheets individually. Here is an overview of the standard sizes of wide format paper rolls and sheets and the size of prints you can use them for. Sizing varies between traditional CAD sizing where true ISO sheet size is required from rolls, and graphics sizing which is almost always oversized. Where a roll accommodates 2 sizes you can print both by simply turning your print to landscape.

CAD PAPERS FOR TECHNICAL DRAWINGS
- 297mm – this is available in only a few product ranges and is the exact width of the long side of A4 or the short side of A3
- 420mm -this is available in only a few product ranges and is the exact width of the long side of A3 or the short side of A2
- 594mm -this is available in more product ranges and is the exact width of the long side of A2 or the short side of A1
- 610mm – this is readily available in nearly every product range – it is oversize so when printing A2 or A1 scale drawings you would have a small margin
- *841mm – this isavailable in CAD product ranges and is the exact width of the long side of A1 or the short side of A0
- *914mm – this is readily available in mostproduct ranges and isoversize so when printing A0 or A1 scale drawings you would have a small margin
- A4, A3, A2, A1 & *A0 Sheets
GRAPHICS PAPERS FOR PRESENTATION AND DISPLAY
- 610mm – this is readily available in nearly every product range – it is oversize A1/A2 so you can print your design with a bleed and then trim to fit a frame
- *914mm- this is readily available in nearly every product range – it is oversize A0/A1 so you can print your design with a bleed and then trim to fit a frame
